HOMEMADE BUTTER

Making homemade butter is simple and requires just one ingredient: heavy cream. Here’s how to do it:

Ingredients:

• 2 cups heavy cream (preferably high-fat, non-ultra-pasteurized)

• ¼ teaspoon salt (optional, for salted butter)

Instructions:

1. Whip the Cream:

• Pour the heavy cream into a stand mixer, food processor, or a jar (for shaking).

• Start beating on medium-high speed. First, it will turn into whipped cream, then it will begin to separate into butter and buttermilk.

2. Separate the Butter:

• Once the butter clumps together and the buttermilk separates, pour off the buttermilk (you can save it for baking).

3. Wash the Butter:

• Rinse the butter under cold water, kneading it with a spatula or hands to remove any remaining buttermilk. This helps prevent spoilage.

4. Salt & Store:

• Add salt if desired and mix well.

• Shape it into a ball or press it into a container.

Storage:

• Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
